The Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University (RAU) in cooperation with the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Armenia announce the 8th Yerevan International Conference for Young Researchers on International Humanitarian Law, which will be held from 19 November to 21 November 2015 in Yerevan, Republic of Armenia.

Yerevan Conference is a unique international platform for the discussion of contemporary issues and perspectives related to IHL development among the young scholars. Since 2007 the Conference's geography was growing and witnessed participants coming from Argenitina, Belarus, Brazil, Czech Republic, Georgia, Estonia, Hungary, Ireland, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Tajikistan, Ukraine, United Kingdom, USA and Armenia.

During the period of its existence, the Conference became known as a unique international event aimed at maintaining and enhancing the interest of young researchers in International Humanitarian Law, International Human Rights Law and International Criminal Law. Since 2007 graduate students and young researchers from Argenitina, Belarus, Brazil, Czech Republic, Georgia, Estonia, Hungary, Ireland, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Tajikistan, Ukraine, United Kingdom, USA and Armenia attended the event. In a survey conducted among former participants, the respondents expressed their appreciation for the Conference’s original approach to the most pressing contemporary humanitarian issues. The survey also revealed that more than 70 % of former participants intend to return to the Conference in 2015. There are many other young researchers from a variety of countries who showed interest in joining the Conference for the first time.
